I’m excited to help support the Luminaria in Fredericksburg, VA, this year!
On Memorial Day weekend, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will set up over 15,000 candles in the Fredericksburg battlefield’s National Cemetery. They light all of those memorial luminaries on Saturday evening (May 24) and it’s one of the most spectacular displays in the region.
I stumbled across it one year and have gone ever since; the event itself is even mentioned in my book, Signal Grace. It’s a pleasure to support such a beautiful demonstration of remembrance and respect. This free event is sponsored by the National Park Service (NPS) in conjunction with the Friends of the Fredericksburg Area Battlefields (FoFAB). Event details are below.
